Australia's retail, supermarket, and food & beverage sector runs on volume, velocity, and compliance. When your ERP does not talk to your suppliers, your 3PL, your POS, or your EDI network — your people fill the gap manually. We have changed that for four of Australia's leading organisations.
Get a Free Integration AssessmentRetail and food & beverage businesses face integration problems that generic ERP implementations do not solve out of the box. Supplier EDI mandates, retailer-specific labelling requirements, multi-warehouse inventory synchronisation, promotional pricing windows, and supermarket-specific compliance data all sit outside the standard configuration of NetSuite or Business Central. When these gaps are not bridged, the consequences are predictable: staff manually re-keying orders from supplier portals, finance teams reconciling invoices that do not match PO lines, operations teams running warehouse picks from spreadsheets exported the night before, and compliance documents generated manually for every outbound shipment.
Oracle NetSuite | Supplier EDI + 3PL Warehouse Integration
A nationally operating supermarket group managed supplier EDI messages, PO creation, inbound goods receipting, and invoice matching across three distribution centres entirely through manual processes. EDI messages (ORDERS, DESADV, INVOIC) were printed and re-entered into the ERP by hand. The AP team processed 800+ invoices per week with 3 people dedicated solely to PO matching.
Weblink Plus built a bi-directional EDI integration connecting Oracle NetSuite to the supermarket's top 40 suppliers via GS1 AS2 EDI standard. The integration automatically ingests purchase order acknowledgements, advance shipping notices, and supplier invoices — creating and matching records in NetSuite without human intervention for compliant transactions. A parallel integration synchronises inventory, inbound receipts, and pick-and-despatch confirmations with the group's 3PL in real time. A custom tolerance engine flags only genuine price or quantity exceptions for human review.
Microsoft Business Central | POS, eCommerce & Loyalty Integration
A specialty retail chain operating 60+ stores had no live connection between its cloud-based POS system, Shopify store, and customer loyalty platform. End-of-day POS data was manually imported the next morning — finance never had same-day revenue visibility. Promotions changed in Business Central were not reflected in Shopify until manually updated, causing pricing inconsistencies.
We built a real-time middleware integration using Microsoft Azure Integration Services, connecting Business Central, a cloud-based POS system, Shopify, and the loyalty platform through a single event-driven hub. All 60+ POS terminals now post sales to Business Central in real time. Product and pricing data is managed in Business Central and pushed to Shopify automatically on change. A custom Business Central extension serves as the loyalty points ledger, always in sync with the loyalty platform API.
Oracle NetSuite | Production Automation & Compliance Document Generation
A mid-market food and beverage manufacturer managed production scheduling, batch records, quality holds, and compliance documentation entirely outside NetSuite — in spreadsheets and paper batch sheets. Compliance document generation took up to 3 hours per production run. Retailer chargebacks for labelling non-compliance averaged $40,000 per quarter.
Weblink Plus extended NetSuite's manufacturing module with a custom Work Order Automation engine. The build includes: automated batch record generation from production orders; a quality hold workflow that automatically locks NetSuite inventory when a batch fails QA; and a compliance document generation system producing Certificates of Conformance, batch traceability records, and retailer-specific shipping labels directly from the NetSuite production record. A secondary integration submits compliance documents to three retail trading partner portals automatically at despatch.
Microsoft Business Central | Retailer Portal Automation & Promotional Pricing Engine
A fast-growing FMCG distributor supplying three major Australian supermarket and grocery retail chains was manually managing replenishment forecasts, promotional deal submissions, and invoice reconciliation through each retailer's portal. Three staff were dedicated solely to downloading forecasts, reformatting them, and entering quantities into Business Central. Promotional pricing in a disconnected spreadsheet caused invoicing errors and deduction disputes averaging 18 per month.
Weblink Plus built a Supplier Portal Automation framework on Business Central, integrating with major supermarket and independent grocery network supplier portals via scheduled API and SFTP connections. Demand forecasts pull automatically from each portal daily and load into Business Central as purchase planning lines. A Promotional Pricing Engine Business Central extension lets the commercial team enter deal terms in BC — the engine applies promotional pricing at invoice automatically during the deal window and reverts to standard pricing on expiry. A reconciliation dashboard matches retailer deductions to approved deals in real time.
Every project started with the same diagnosis — the ERP was only doing part of the job, and people were filling the gap. The integrations Weblink Plus builds are not off-the-shelf connectors. They are purpose-built for the specific data standards, compliance requirements, and commercial rules of Australian retail and FMCG. We work across EDI (GS1 AS2, EDIFACT, X12), REST and SOAP APIs, Azure Integration Services, Power Platform, and custom middleware. Every integration includes error handling, retry logic, exception alerting, and monitoring built in from day one.
